Synopsis: In the martial arts graphic novel Story of the Tao #1, written by Ding Kin Lau and illustrated by Andy Seto, a treacherous battle for the throne and the fate of spirituality unfolds. After King Lee instructs his younger son, Prince Lee, to pursue the enlightened path of Buddha, the King and his primary heir die under highly suspicious circumstances. The ambitious, malevolent Queen stepmother is immediately suspected of treason, but she wields immense political power and remains heavily protected by a fierce legion of skilled Kung Fu masters. To shield the vulnerable young prince and preserve the balance of the spiritual world, earthly guardians from four distinct religious sects—Taoism, Buddhism, Shinto (Shingon), and Mysticism—must put aside their philosophical differences and unite their mystical powers. Together, they face a dangerous clash against the Queen’s denizens and the Clan of Seven Evils in a desperate attempt to protect the true heir and safeguard humanity from a dark forces threat.
